Paragraph from Wikipedia:
The names of the Seven Dwarfs (Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy and Sneezy) were created for this production, chosen from a pool of about fifty potentials. The one name Disney always had in mind from the start was Grumpy, or something similar. Blabby, Jumpy, Shifty, and Snoopy were among those that were rejected, along with Awful, Baldy, Biggo-Ego, Biggy, Biggy-Wiggy, Burpy, Busy, Chesty, Cranky, Daffy, Dippy, Dirty, Dizzy, Doleful, Flabby, Gabby, Gloomy, Goopy, Graceful, Helpful, Hoppy, Hotsy, Hungrey, Jaunty, Lazy, Neurtsy, Nifty, Puffy, Sappy, Sneezy-Wheezy, Sniffy, Scrappy, Silly, Soulful, Strutty, Stuffy, Sleazy, Tearful, Thrifty, Tipsy, Titsy, Tubby, Weepy, Wistful, and Woeful.

I’ve been on a random Snow White kick lately. I re-read the Donald Barthelme novel Snow White a couple weeks ago, and then yesterday I was procrastinating in Northwestern’s library and started reading a book of Anne Sexton poems, which has a rendition of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.” So Wikipedia was sure to follow.

When I was a kid, I used to pull down from the shelf this enormous compendium of Disney movies – it had inside stories, illustrations like stills from the films & etc. The stuff for Snow White was cool, because it showed prototype drawings for a lot of the ones you mention above.

Does it take someone at a conference to point out the obvious value of a character called “Biggo-Ego”? And is anyone else hungry for waffles?
