i do not want to sound like an alarmist about the financial crisis

But the apocalypse is here.  I am arranging to receive my next paycheck from Northwestern in gold.  I am going to teach my class tomorrow, and then come back to my apartment and start building a fort.

    I have no idea if members of my family still check out my blog, but if so they are going to burst out laughing at the idea of me successfully raising my own food. I have zero post-apocalypse skills, which I would worry about more if ‘post-apocalypse’ wasn’t such an oxymoron.
