snap, crackle, and pop

My parents have their 55th wedding anniversary next month.   One of my siblings has suggested that we all get together and buy them a backyard trampoline.

  1. crimsonglow: Perhaps in the mind of the sibling who suggested the trampoline. Instead, I just don’t think it would be the best gift for parents who are in their seventies.

  2. In grad school one of the places that I rented came complete with a backyard trampoline. It was fun to jump on, but it’s real value was as a place to lay back and look up at the stars at night.

Maybe if your sibling is trying to say that your parents have still got all this youthful joy and energy, a trip to Disneyworld is in order, or a Wii like the one they so enjoyed over Thanksgiving.
