the once unruly, now sadly sublimated, darlings of public sociology

Brief thread on orgtheory about our decline. We can still wind the hurdy-gurdy, but no longer does our neurotic monkey dance.

Commenters can have any opinion they’d like. I’ve always been a fan of SP, sublimated or nonsublimated.

We’re still selling bullshit at WITW, for what it’s worth.

Can’t we just merge into one Tumblr called Kenneth, What Is The Scatterplot?

An extraordinarily large number of my problems would be solved if we did.

In all seriousness, I’d like to encourage non-bloggers who feel their needs are not met by the current online sociology community to start their own blogs. I would be willing–and perhaps scatterplotters and orgtheorists (and others) would also–to direct traffic to new blogs, to comment upon them, and provide any advice the authors might need. I’d love it if 2012=soc blogosphere 2.0.
