    Interesting detail is the claim that it was the government who let criminals out of prison, presumably to add to the turmoil and justify repression? Other accounts imply the protesters opened the prisons. Is there verification one way or the other?

      I noticed this as well. I haven’t found other support of it. But I suspect it will be something keenly discussed after the movement settles…
