It is ultimately the responsibility of the [the American Sociological Association] to ensure journals reach subscribers on time. However, we have just learned in response to our concerned inquiries (and those from subscribers) that the December issue of [the American Sociological Review] was not delivered to the post office in mid-December as we had been told but was mistakenly delivered by the trucking company to a storage warehouse. The issue has now been delivered to the post office and will mail on February 5.

They also sent out the wrong issues to authors–at least authors in the October issue. When I called to request a resolution the automated message noted the publisher had lost the World Bank contract. Mmmm….
And here I thought it was because of my move that I wasn’t getting my journal.
Man, now it isn’t going to get to Canada until Easter.
I’m with alotta- I just thought that since the move to my new apartment, the ASA had lost track of me.
I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to get them to send stuff to my work address…
@ 4: I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to stop them sending me stuff. I don’t need hard copies of things. Electronic is just fine. They don’t seem to agree.
Also, someone is selling my address to publishers, etc. The amount of junk mail I get from them is truly astonishing. I think it’s the ASA.

There’s this series of tubes I should tell you about.
