Do the right thing, people. Head over to Wicked Anomie’s page at Etsy to buy an awesome handmade Blind Reviewer Voodoo Doll. Not only can you use it to vent your frustrations when papers are out of your hands and to punish the cruel reviewers who dare reject your pearls of wisdom, but you will help fund an awesome (and crafty! and nerdy!) grad student’s trip to the ASA.

Whoa! Three Scatterplot posts in six minutes.
I want to wear my blind reviewer doll on my ASA nametag, next to my Scatterplot ribbon.
OK, I just bought one. I am kind of hoping I get a negative review shortly after so that I can post a YouTube video of me cackling and setting the doll on fire.
The irony is that I’ve played the role of blind reviewer twice this month already. In fact, I just turned in a review two days ago.
I hope I didn’t just shoot myself in the foot :) .
Here’s an update on how my Blind Reviewer Voodoo Doll Keychains are working out for me (both having found a comfortable spot in my office). It looks like their mere presence may help keep bad reviews away. I just experienced one of the quickest turn-arounds with a journal (SSQ), from initial submission to final acceptance (one round of R&R) in just over six months. Although it looks like Wicked Anomie has managed to secure considerable funding for ASA, her Etsy store still has some Voodoo Dolls for sale in case you want to share in the experience.
Glad to be of service!
I would like to point out, however, that it is my co-blogger, Monsoon, who is rocking the conference funding. I think she’s gotten about four different travel grants, adding up to cover her entire trip.
I’m not jealous. Really.
Oh, and congratulations on the quick acceptance. That is impressive and something worth noting in the Socijournals Wiki.
Anomie, sorry about the confusion! Well, then we really need to make a push to get you selling more of these helpful dolls!
